Amazon lands rights to James Bond novels, ebook versions only on Kindle Store

Posted by Randy Nelson

Ian Fleming’s books about famous international super-spy James Bond have a new home. Amazon has snagged the North American publishing rights to the 14 novels, in addition to two non-fiction works, for the next 10 years. New hardcover and paperback copies will be issued under Amazon’s Thomas & Mercer imprint starting this summer, while the ebook versions will only be sold through the Kindle Store.

Amazon will sell the hardcover editions exclusively, but paperback copies will still be available from other booksellers. While the Kindle Store will be the only outlet selling the ebook versions, that doesn’t mean the Bond ebooks will be limited to Kindle devices. You can access the sly spy’s stirring adventures on any device that supports the Kindle app, like the iPhone, the iPad, Android phones and tables, Mac, and PC.
