Nokia N97 vs iPhone 3GS - Unboxing & Review
July 20th, 2009
Here at the GazelleGadgetlab we got the chance to check out two of the hottest phones this year in a brief face-to-face unboxing and review. First off we had the new iPhone 3Gs from Apple. This is by far the fastest iPhone ever with a new 600MHz processor. The 3Gs is just incredible when it comes to applications, gaming, web, and multimedia due to it’s industry breaking speed. Apple has also jacked up the camera to a 3.2mp shooter and have added video capture with editing. Taking on the 3Gs we have the new Nokia N97 touchscreen smartphone. The N97 is the Finnish giants second attempt at a touchscreen smartphone following the success of the popular 5800. The new N97 features the Symbian S60 5th edition OS with a 434MHz processor. The N97 is rich in hardware features sporting a 5mp camera, full qwerty, microSD slot, and GPS. To tell you truth both devices are quite spectacular in hand, and perform very well.
The big deciding factor between the two devices is a Hardware vs. Software question. What the Nokia lacks in applications it makes up for with the 5mp camera and full qwerty. While Nokia does have an app store too, the OVI store has a long way (really long) to catch up to the App store.
Bottom Line- If you prefer the ability to download thousand of cool apps and games, lightening fast web, and a smooth touchscreen, then the iphone is for you. If you prefer more hardware features like a full QWERTY and a great 5mp shooter, N97 is your guy. The choice is up to you!
